Fear for their own lives and the lives of relatives, constant expectation of shelling, unwillingness to put up with the fact that war has come to their home. Thousands of families have been left without a roof over their heads due to the constant fighting.

Avdiyivka, Krasnogorivka, Maryinka, Verkhnotoretske, Pershotravneve, Lebedynske — this is not a complete list of frontline settlements in which emergency rescue workers from 7 regions of Ukraine worked for two months. They, as part of the Joint Forces Operation, were involved in carrying out restoration work of houses damaged as a result of hostilities. The emergency workers were not afraid of the proximity of the demarcation line, they were not deterred by the need to work daily in helmets and body armor. Moreover, for rescuers it is not just another task as intended. It is an opportunity to help citizens who are left almost alone with the horrors of military conflict. Thanks to the cooperation of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Donetsk Regional State Administration, 376 houses were restored in two months.

It's not just dry numbers. These are stories of people who will finally return to their own homes. This is the belief that even in the most difficult situations there is someone to count on. Local residents with tears in their eyes escorted the boys. They did not hold back emotions and tried to transfer as many guests as possible to the families of the rescuers, who had been waiting patiently for their heroes for two months.
