In Donetsk region, police seized more than 12,000 packs of counterfeit cigarettes
In Mirnograd, the police seized tobacco products with counterfeit excise stamps from the warehouse. And in the frontline Toretsk they stopped the family “business” of selling illegal cigarettes. The total amount of the seized amounted to about 700 thousand hryvnias at the prices of the “black” market.
As a result of the sanctioned search, the Pokrovsky district police department liquidated the warehouse of counterfeit cigarettes in the city of Mirnograd. 11,180 packs of counterfeit excise tax stamps were seized.
The issue of bringing the owner of the illegal goods to liability under Part 1 of Art. 156 “Violation of the rules of trade in beer, alcohol, low-alcohol beverages, tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and liquids used in electronic cigarettes, devices for consuming tobacco products without burning them” of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
Toretsk police officers exposed a couple who organized trade in tobacco products of dubious quality without excise tax stamps. The criminal business was stopped by district police officers.
It was established that during 2021, a 36-year-old woman and her husband, residents of the village of Zaliznoe, near Toretsk, sold counterfeit cigarettes in one of the local shops at prices below market prices.
During searches of places of sale and storage of tobacco products, more than 1000 packs of cigarettes were found and seized. The withdrawn goods are sent for examination.
Pre-trial investigation is carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Part 1 of Article 199 (Manufacture, storage, acquisition, transportation, shipment, import into Ukraine for the purpose of using in the sale of goods, sale or sale of counterfeit money, state securities, state lottery tickets, excise stamps tax or holographic protective elements) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In Donetsk region, the all-Ukrainian operation “Excise” continues to counteract offenses in the sphere of sale of excisable goods.
