During the patrol, police officers of the Limansk and Cherkasy territorial communities noticed large fires of dry grass and comfrey in the pasture areas. In the village of Lozovoy, the fire has already approached the outbuildings. Without wasting time, before the arrival of fire rescuers, the police began to fight the fire with fire extinguishers.

Thanks to the joint coordinated actions of rescuers and police, the fire element was contained. The police are taking measures to establish the piles.

After the fire was extinguished, police officers conducted preventive talks with local residents.

We remind you that during dry burning, plant seeds die both on the ground and underground. In a strong fire, almost all living things that live in the grass and on the surface of the soil die. Burning causes direct harm to human health, as smoke from burning grass is caustic, thick and poisonous. In addition, in the deposits of dry grass there is often garbage that is dangerous for burning.

There is administrative responsibility for burning garbage and grass. According to Art. 77-1 KUPAP “Unlawful burning of vegetation or its residues” fine is 3 060 — 6 120 UAH for citizens, 15 300 — 21 420 UAH — for officials.

If the actions cause a fire, then this already entails criminal liability under Art. 245 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Destruction or damage to objects of plant life”. This offense is punishable by a fine of 91,800 to 153 000 hryvnias, or restriction of liberty for a term of two to five years, or imprisonment for the same term.

For the same actions, if they caused the death of people, the mass death of animals or other serious consequences, between five and ten years of imprisonment are provided.
