In Cherkasy region, law enforcement officers detained the deputy head of the department of the regional Pension Fund for extortion and receipt of illegal benefits
For $1,700 of illegal benefits, the official promised to help the citizen with the registration of a pension for the loss of a breadwinner from among the liquidators of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl NPP. Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department exposed the deputy head of one of the departments of the Regional Administration of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Cherkasy region.
Yesterday, June 10, law enforcement officers detained the attacker. The woman demanded and received a stipulated $1,700 “reward” at the premises of a local service center. She was detained at the scene of the offense in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The entire amount of money has been withdrawn.
Investigative and operational measures are currently underway, including searches in the office and at the place of residence of the defendant. The issue of notifying the detainee about the suspicion and choosing a precautionary measure is resolved. In fact, criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art.
368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the regional police department under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office.
