Today, on December 3, the Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskiy and the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Ambassador Matti Maasikas agreed on this matter.

"Considering today's challenges, the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposes to consider reallocating part of the budget of the second phase of the joint EU4IBM project for the urgent arrangement of the Ukrainian-Belarusian section of the border and increasing the capacity of the State Border Guard Service," - Denys Monastyrskiy said.

The Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas assured that Ukraine can already rely on 1.4 million euros, and within a few months, the European partners will agree on a substantial increase of this amount.

The head of the law enforcement agency noted that due to the aggravation of the situation on the common border of the EU and the Republic of Belarus, as well as a blatant demonstration of aggressive intentions on the part of eastern and northern neighbors, Ukraine is interested in expanding cooperation with the EU on security issues. In this regard, the Ukrainian side is interested in participation in the meeting of the EU interior ministers that will be held on December 9-10 in Brussels.

Denys Monastyrskiy assured Matti Maasikas that the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to implement the Integrated Border Management Strategy and ensure the implementation of the readmission agreement with the EU, strict compliance with the criteria of visa-free regime with the EU clearly and consistently.
