Cadets of DDUVS about the arrest of the thief: “He committed an offense — he will be responsible!”
Cadets of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs detained an attacker who snatched several bottles of alcohol in the ATB supermarket. The incident occurred on May 2 in Dnipro. Details are in our material.
The 2nd year cadets of the Faculty of Preventive Activities Ilya Kuznetsov and Sergey Chernov returned to the barracks after the protection of public order during the Easter holidays.
As the guys say, they did not have time to get out of the tram at the stop, as the guard of the ATB supermarket immediately approached them and pointed to the man who was moving away.
“We were taken as policemen, the guard did not even notice that we were cadets. He quickly explained that the man stole several bottles of alcohol in the supermarket, and we rushed to catch up with him,” says Sergey Chernov.
As soon as the attacker noticed that he was being pursued by law enforcement officers, he tried to escape. However, the cadets caught up with him after 1.5 kilometers and detained him. Then they promptly called the police and reported the incident to their course officer, and then were nearby before the arrival of the police officers at the scene.
Cadets comment: before the arrival of the investigative task force, the attacker tried to break out, offered to “negotiate” and even tried to convince passers-by that the guys had used physical force on him. However, from the very beginning of the pursuit of the thief, the young men filmed the whole process on the phone camera, and provided the evidence to the patrolmen.
“There was no doubt: we understood that we were facing an offender who should be punished. They knew 100% of what to do, because they received the necessary skills in tactical and special training and preparation of administrative materials at the university, thanks to our teachers,” Ilya Kuznetsov notes.
The attacker was taken to the Shevchenko police station. According to this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation continues.
