The commander of the NGU and the commander of the Odron Forces of Georgia discussed possible areas of cooperation
Today, as part of the two-day visit of the delegation of the NGU to the National Guard of the Georgian Defense Forces, the General Staff of the Georgian Defense Forces held a working meeting of the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel General Mykola Balana with the commander of the Georgian Defense Forces, Major General Georgy Matey Iashvili.
The commander of the NGU thanked the Georgian Party for the opportunity to undergo psychological rehabilitation to the NGU servicemen who were injured in the ATO/PLO holding area. Also, Georgian colleagues were acquainted with the structure, main tasks and functions of the National Guard of Ukraine, its role and place in the security and defense sector of the country.
The parties discussed the issues of exchange of experience in the field of planning of training activities, assessment of readiness of units to perform assigned tasks, training of sergeants, instructors and reservists, organization of activities of educational institutions and training centers.
Ukrainian side expressed interest in training of NGU servicemen in educational institutions and centers of the Georgian Defense Forces, including the JTEC (NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Centre) and Sachkhersk a mountain training school, which has been designated as a training and training centre under the NATO Partnership for Peace Programme (PfP).
During the discussion of cooperation issues, the parties reached an agreement on the need to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Guard of the Georgian Defense Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine.
