The commander of the National Guard of Ukraine awarded special officers from the armed forces

As part of a working visit to the area of operation of the Joint Forces (OSCE), Colonel-General Mykola Balan awarded the servicemen of the special purpose detachment of the National Guard of Ukraine, who perform service-combat tasks in the defense of the state within the framework of the Joint Forces.

“You are experienced and motivated professionals in your field, important tasks that you perform as part of the Joint Forces make it possible to restrain the enemy, neutralize sabotage and reconnaissance groups, strengthen the most dangerous areas,” said Colonel-General Mykola Balan, speaking with special agents of the National Guard.

Also, Colonel-General Mykola Balan spoke with the personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine grouping in the OSCE and listened to the report of the heads of the NGU grouping in the OSCE and OTU “North” on the use of forces and means of the NGU, the effectiveness of the implementation by the personnel of the National Guard of the designated service-forces and facilities of the National Guard tasks and the level of their interaction with other power units.

He also stressed the importance of comprehensive provision of units, nutrition and livelihoods of servicemen during the winter period.

During his stay in the area of the Joint Forces Operation, the commander visited the checkpoints where the personnel of the NGU are serving.

Recall that units of the National Guard of Ukraine in the area of the Joint Forces carry out countersabotage measures, check vehicles, documents and persons on the basis of the search in order to stop the illegal transportation of weapons, ammunition, narcotic substances.

In addition, the service at checkpoints and observation posts of the National Guard has repeatedly contributed to the detection of persons involved in illegal armed formations. Thus, during the week from November 29 to December 5, the personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine, within the framework of isolation and containment measures at mobile and stationary checkpoints in the area of the operation of the United Forces, checked more than 43 thousand vehicles and more than 55 thousand people. During the inspection, the servicemen found 94 offenders. Among them, 85 people committed administrative offenses, and 9 people were detained and handed over to police officers on suspicion of committing criminal offenses, two of them on suspicion of participating in or creating illegal armed groups.
