Former and current police officers of Lviv region were exposed for drug trafficking and falsification of crimes
Internal security operatives of the NPU and the Security Service of Ukraine established the involvement of the deputy chief of one of the departments of the Lviv district police department and several of his subordinates, as well as former law enforcement officers, in the sale of narcotic drugs and the prosecution of knowingly innocent persons, by falsifying the evidence of the indictment. Two defendants have already been detained and are in temporary detention.
The Lviv Department of Internal Security of NPU and the Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the SBU in Lviv Oblast provides operational support of criminal proceedings initiated on the sale of drugs and bringing knowingly innocent people to criminal responsibility, combined with artificial the creation of evidence for the prosecution.
The involvement of the deputy head of one of the departments of the Lviv RUP GUNP in Lviv region, several of his current and former subordinates in the commission of the above-mentioned offenses was established. Also, the operatives are aware of the involvement of a civilian in illegal actions - the man, whom the police involved as a concept, had to commit thefts at their “request”, for which he received a “reward” - drugs for his own use.
The joint internal security actions of the NPU, the SBU, the SBI and the prosecutor's office conducted authorized searches at the place of service of the persons involved and at the residential addresses. During the events, office equipment, mobile phones, cash were withdrawn.
Pursuant to Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, a 37-year-old police officer, a 31-year-old senior police commissioner and a 38-year-old previously convicted resident of the Lviv region were detained. Investigators of the TU SBI, located in the city of Lviv, informed them of the suspicion.
Suspicion was also handed to a 40-year-old former police officer under Part 2, Part 3 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a suspicion of the fact was declared in absentia the sale of drugs to two other police officers. The further fate of the accused defendants will be determined by the court.
