Canine units of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine improve professional skills
Teachers of the Department of Cynology of the Faculty of State Border Security of the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine took part in the webinar “Using dogs to search for a person by smell trail”.
The event was organized by the Consultative Mission of the European Union to Ukraine together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in continuation of the webinar “European Union Practices on Development Strategy and Interdepartmental Cooperation of the Canine Service” held in February.
Representatives of canine units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Criminal Enforcement Service of Ukraine, as well as institutions of higher education of the security and defense sectors of the countries also participated in the class, which was conducted by dog experts from the Netherlands and Portugal.
Participants exchanged views, discussed the system and technique of training service dogs to search for a person for an odorous trace, and participated in interactive exercises. Also, during the webinar, EU experts provided methodological material and presentations that will be used for classes with future officers of canine units.
