Engineers of the National Guard defused explosives on the territory of the military firing range
The demining group of military unit 3057 cleared the territory of the military firing range from explosive objects, which for various reasons did not break during the shooting.
A week of painstaking work took specialist engineers to survey the area with a total area of about one and a half hectares. During this time, more than 160 explosive objects have been identified, defused and destroyed, including grenades, rocket fire and artillery shells.
According to the commander of the group Lieutenant Colonel Maxim Bozhko, more time is spent on the search for explosive objects than on their neutralization, because the territory of the landfill is quite “enriched” with bullets and scrap metal that are not capable of detonating, but to which the metal detector responds.
There are quite a few “clean” areas, because this is a training ground, where shootings are carried out almost daily, so it is immediately difficult to establish whether it is a dangerous object or safe. But a week of work of the demining group and the territory cleared. We are doing everything possible to protect personnel,” says Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Bozhko.
By the forces of the personnel of the demining group, all ammunition found was destroyed in the prescribed order.
