Guardsmen ensured public safety during Independence Day events and celebrations
In total, almost 400 mass events were held in the state, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine. In Kiev alone, about 100 thousand citizens took part in the festive events. During these days, units of the National Guard carried out enhanced service to ensure the safety of citizens in cities and mass events, in particular in the area of the PLO.
“For this period in the capital alone, more than 3,000 guards, as well as dog trainers and doctors, were involved in the service. NGU servicemen performed tasks in close cooperation with the National Police of Ukraine and other components of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Security of important state facilities, diplomatic missions and consular offices was strengthened. Personnel who performed tasks these days will be encouraged,” said the commander of the NGU, Colonel General Mykola Balan.
In general, during the festive events, there were no gross violations of public order. According to official information from the National Police of Ukraine, during mass events in the capital, several violations of public order were recorded, to which law enforcement officers promptly responded.
