Mountain patrol company of the National Guard protects public order in Verkhovyna
Soldiers of the mountain patrol company as part of the mobile reserve of military unit 1241 of the Western Operational and Territorial Union of the National Guard of Ukraine continue to patrol in the village of Verkhovyna in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Guards together with police officers perform tasks to protect public order in order to improve the safety of vacationers during the summer holiday season and provide assistance in the fight against crime.
“Thanks to the presence of the National Guard, preventive measures are being carried out, which in turn have a positive effect on the state of public order in the city. According to statistics, the number of offenses in the area has decreased,” said Deputy Chief for Preventive Activities of the Verkhovyna Police Department Lieutenant Colonel Vasyl Brovchuk. Soldiers patrol the streets of the city and nearby settlements within the Verkhovynskyi district as part of road and foot patrols.
“The activities of the mountain patrol company are based on the experience of colleagues from Romania. In the event of a situation that may threaten the life and health of vacationers or local residents, the guards will definitely come to the rescue,” says the first deputy commander of the patrol battalion — Chief of Staff of the military unit 1241 Major Mykola Balon.
The Mountain Patrol Company is a unique unit on the territory of Ukraine formed at the end of 2016.
Taking into account the many years of experience of the unit's interaction with international partners, the personnel of the mountain patrol company is constantly involved in the protection of public order, and in the event of an emergency situation in hard-to-reach mountain areas, they are able to professionally use the available special equipment for quick response.
