SNS: Since the beginning of the year, almost 80 forest fires have already occurred on the territory of Ukraine
In Ukraine, the season of economic works continues, which is primarily accompanied by the fight against garbage and vegetation residues by incineration. Such activities, for which, among other things, administrative and criminal liability are provided, have led to an increase in the number of fires in natural ecosystems and in open areas. Especially this issue is acute during the long May weekend.
Thus, since the beginning of 2021, almost 80 forest fires and more than 9 thousand fires have already occurred on the territory of Ukraine in open areas: grass, garbage, shrubs, etc.
That is why rescuers strengthen preventive work and, together with other services, go on raids in settlements of Ukraine.
Thus, in Zhytomyr region, on May 1-2, the specialists of the State Emergency Service of Baranovsk and Yemilchyna districts conducted informational and explanatory work among the population of a number of rural settlements on the danger of burning dry vegetation and garbage. During the yard detours, the rescue service staff drew the attention of the population to the observance of fire safety rules in everyday life, when cleaning household plots and cemeteries from garbage and last year's dry land. In addition, rescuers distributed cards and mementos with cautionary information to all residents.
In Kirovohrad region on May 3, preventive measures were carried out in the Salgani sands tract of the city. Kropyvnytskyi and in other forest areas of the region. The participants of the raid groups carried out explanatory work with vacationers and recalled the strengthening of administrative and criminal liability for violation of fire safety rules in ecosystems.
On May 2, similar patrols also took place in almost all areas of Kherson region. Rescuers carried out raids in forest areas and near water bodies. The population was explained to the rules of fire safety in ecosystems, cited examples of large-scale forest fires of the past years, and explained that such incidents mostly occur due to neglect of elementary rules of behavior with fire.
At the same time, according to the UkrHydrometCenter, on May 4, an extreme level of fire danger will prevail in most areas of the central, eastern, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Odessa, Mykolaiv regions.
So, the SNS reminds: it is strictly forbidden to burn garbage, make fires near forest plantations, dry vegetation and leave cigarette butts or matches on the grass bed.
It must be remembered that violation of fire safety rules carries a threat not only to the environment, but also, first of all, to your life and health!
