Today, August 6, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky awarded departmental honors to the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The watches and thanks were received by the officers of the Kyiv City Patrol Police Department, who, risking their own lives, rescued a man on July 16 in the Darnitsky district of the capital.

The police at the last moment managed to grab a woman who wanted to commit suicide and jump out of a window. Law enforcement officers held the victim until rescuers arrived to help.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked the patrolmen for their professional actions and stressed that colleagues and citizens of Ukraine should be proud of the act of police officers.

“To talk about saving lives is to talk about the opportunity that the police can realize the most. The opportunity to save and save a person's life does not fall to every law enforcement officer. For me, as a citizen, the salvation of a person is valued the most. You have confirmed your motto: “Serve and protect.” This is a daily, difficult job. But these are the moments that employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and citizens of Ukraine should know and be proud of them. It's an honor to work with people like you. Thank you!”, - said Denis Monastyrsky.

Also certificates and thanks were received by the employees of the State Research Expert and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Kyiv Research Expert and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who in the shortest possible time conducted a study of a particularly dangerous drug - heroin.

In this way, the police of the Drug Enforcement Department managed to quickly detect and detain drug traffickers who planned to transport a particularly large batch of heroin to European countries.

“In any victory, there are always a lot of participants. But today we decided to celebrate those people who really brought the final closer in a serious matter - to block the channel for the supply of drugs to Europe. You have done exemplary work, which, without exaggeration, can be included in textbooks on this specialty. I am sure that further results will be even better”, - emphasized Denis Monastyrsky.

Recall that in Kyiv, on July 22, the National Police detained members of a transnational drug group and seized more than 368 kg of heroin. Two Turkish citizens organized the purchase of heroin in Iran and the transit of the drug through Ukraine to the countries of the European Union. The total value of the seized batch of banned substance at “black” market prices is more than a billion hryvnias.
