Denis Monastyrsky awarded rescuers for high professionalism and saved lives

Today, December 28, the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky presented departmental commendations — the “For Courage in Service” badge, to the rescuers of the 13th and 16th State Fire and Rescue Department of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the city. Kyiv, which saved the lives of three citizens on December 24.

Thus, Captain of the Civil Protection Service Evgeny Vdovichenko and Senior Ensign Yuri Vitter rescued two people who were caught in a fire trap in an apartment building on the 4th floor on the street. Zakrevsky. Rescuers quickly arrived at the scene and freed the victims from the burning apartment, after which they handed over to the ambulance team.

In turn, on the same day, the sergeant of the civil protection service Alexander Grabovsky rescued a woman who was in the icy water on Lake Telbin in the Dnieper district. The SNSS fighter quickly reached the drowning citizen, and with the help of a lifeline carried her to the shore, and then handed it over to the medics.

Thanks to high professional skills, good physical and tactical training of rescuers, the lives of three people were saved. And this is only in the capital. Unfortunately, cases in which citizens are in mortal danger occur every day in different parts of our country.

The Minister of the Interior thanked the rescuers for their dedicated service and noted that, unfortunately, many people die in the water in winter because they do not think about the consequences. Denis Monastyrsky stressed that the role of the state, namely the State Emergency Service, is to carry out preventive measures and save people who find themselves in such situations.

“Today we gather to celebrate people who save lives. Rescue crews have already flown around the country. From the entire staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, from the Government, thank you for the professional and selfless work that you have been doing every day for many years,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
