Denis Monastyrsky awarded two Guard officers with weapons
Today, November 19, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky awarded two officers of the National Guard, participants in hostilities, with a departmental incentive award - “Firearms”.
On behalf of the Ukrainian state, the weapon was received by the commander of the 2nd battalion of the operational purpose of the military unit 3018 of the NGU, Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Sidorin, who in 2014 took part in hostilities and is currently serving in the Joint Forces.
In June-July 2014, during service on the western outskirts of the city of Slavyansk at checkpoint No. 1, Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Sidorin, under heavy tank fire from the enemy, organized the defense of the checkpoint. On his orders, the personnel opened fire in return. Sergei Sidorin with a shot from the RPG neutralized an enemy tank, but in the course of the battle he was wounded. This did not prevent him from bringing the entrusted personnel out of the fire without loss.
Also, the award pistol was received by the commander of the 1st battalion of the operational unit 3018 of the NGU, Lieutenant Colonel Nazariy Yasinsky, who also took part in hostilities in 2014 and this year is on rotation in the Joint Forces.
In December 2018, Lieutenant Colonel Nazariy Yasinsky commanded a group that detected enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups. During the next exit, the guards noticed the enemy DRG. Lieutenant Colonel Yasinsky gave the order to fire for the defeat, the enemy retreated. During this exit, Nazariy Yasinsky received an acupuncture injury.
From September 2019 to May 2020, Lieutenant Colonel Yasinsky commanded a special purpose company as part of the 59th Brigade of the Armed Forces in the area of the operation of the Joint Forces. The lieutenant colonel's company managed three times to stop the massive offensive of the enemy assault groups, detect and stop the advance of eight enemy DRGs.
