Denis Monastyrsky initiated the introduction of draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada that will increase road safety
Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky said that the Patrol Police will severely punish drivers and owners of commercial vehicles who drive “bald rubber” or use wheels that have unacceptable defects to save money. And also those who exceed the speed limit and the rules of maneuvering.
“This month, on my initiative, draft laws aimed at improving road safety will be introduced to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” he said.
“A terrible tragedy happened this morning near Chernihiv. Around eight in the morning, the truck driver, violating the rules of the road, drove into the oncoming lane and caused a collision with a shuttle bus. Thirteen people have died as a result of the accident. Others are in serious condition. I express my deepest condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the dead. This is an irreparable loss!”, - said Denis Monastyrsky.
He appealed to each driver: “Be vigilant and careful when you get behind the wheel. After all, you are responsible not only for your life and health, but also for the lives and health of other people.”
