Community policing in action: Dnipro residents helped patrol to detain robbers
Vigilant residents of the house on Chebotareva Street in Dnipro noticed a suspicious car near the playground. They were concerned that at night unknown persons collected something from the site and put it in a car. Citizens called the police and asked to check what was happening.
A patrol crew arrived at the scene, but the specified car had already left the place. Police searched the area and found it on a nearby street. There was a man near the vehicle. Security guards talked to the citizen and conducted a superficial check. In the interior of the car, inspectors found a rubber coating that was probably stolen from a playground on a nearby street.
The man offered a bribe to the patrolmen to let him go. Inspectors warned him of criminal responsibility for such actions, but the man insisted on his own.
Later, another citizen, who is probably also involved in the theft, approached the scene and an investigative task force was called to the scene.
The men were taken to the police station. They face liability for theft and offering illegal benefits. Thank you to the concerned citizens who called the police.
