More than 10,000 law enforcement officers take care of security during the holidays in the capital
From August 21 to 25, the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs operate in an enhanced version. Currently, in Kyiv alone, more than 10,000 law enforcement officers ensure public order and security throughout the country. Of these: 3,5 thousand National Guards, 5.8 thousand — police officers, 1.4 thousand employees of the State Emergency Service.
The State Border Service strengthened border control at checkpoints and entry-exit checkpoints, and ensured the readiness of reserves to carry out suddenly arising tasks.
In total, about 8,600 soldiers and 2800 units of the State Emergency Service are on duty on the territory of Ukraine, including almost 700 rescuers and 110 units of equipment at the sites of festive events. The rotation of 9 aircraft was organized, of which one plane and two helicopters at the airport “Kiev”. There are 28 pyrotechnic calculations in readiness.
The network of situation centers of the National Police has been transferred to an enhanced mode of operation since August 21. This is necessary for the prompt processing of information about the situation in the state and making management decisions. Territorial units of the National Police during the festive period ensure road safety, public order protection at mass events and the safety of their participants.
