Beret with honors: Denis Monastyrsky attended the qualification exam of the best guards
The Minister of the Interior attended the National Guard qualification exam for the right to wear a beret with honors. They were won by 11 best guards, in total 75 servicemen from different regions of Ukraine took part in the exam, including one woman.
“You are warriors who help defend Ukraine's independence. The best proof of my respect for you is that my children are with me. I want them to follow an example from the best servicemen who receive a beret with honors,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
The commander of the National Guard Nikolai Balan noted that the exams for the right to wear a beret with honors are being improved for the fourth year in a row.
“The distinction for National Guardsmen is the most honorable and authoritative among all existing in the National Guard. These are very fair and impartial exams and how the soldiers will overcome the distance will be confirmation for those present,” he said.
The exams were attended by representatives of Operation 11 “UNIFIER” with the participation of Commander Melanie Lake. According to her, Canada will introduce methods for assessing soldiers of the Armed Forces of Canada at competitions, for example, an exam for the right to wear a beret with honors on the model of the NGU.
She also noted that the qualification itself is not easy and diverse, which will reflect well on the moral and physical experience of the participants, and therefore make them more prepared for any conditions later in life.
Qualification exams were held in Vyshgorod on the basis of the First Presidential Brigade of Operational Appointment named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko of the NGU. Therefore, 8 groups of 10 candidates alternately covered the 11-kilometer distance from 3 tests.
And the test is a 10-12 km march-throw in full ammunition on average terrain with overcoming artificial and natural obstacles: overcoming the obstacle course, complying with standards for combat training (tactical, fire, military-medical training, solving logical problems, throwing grenades at range, overcoming psychological obstacles, performing strength training exercises, performing exercises with Kalashnikov's machine for accuracy).
The second test is shooting from a combat weapon, namely the execution of exercises from a pistol and from a machine gun for accuracy.
The third test is hand-to-hand combat with a hand-to-hand combat instructor or with a decorated beret holder.
During the visit to the operational brigade, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs inspected the small arms equipped with the units of the NGU, the canine center, the medical center and the physical education and health complex.
