Officials of the MIA and the German criminal police have agreed on cooperation in the field of criminal police activities (PHOTOS)
During his official visit to Germany, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov has negotiated with the President of the Federal Criminal Police Agency Holger Münch an agreement which will define a common strategy of communication between law enforcement agencies of both countries.
Ukrainian cyberpolicemen already have some experience in combating hybrid threats, in particular in the field of cyber security, so they recently held the first consultation on these issues for their Canadian colleagues.
In turn, German colleagues shared their experience: they organized internships for the employees of the NPU Department of Cyberpolice in the respective department of the Federal Criminal Police Agency. In addition, the Federal Criminal Police Agency provided the MIA Expertise Centre with the equipment necessary for carrying out DNA tests.
"We understand all the threats and risks facing Germany today. The most pressing issue for Germany now is fight against "fake news" and hybrid propaganda on the Internet, whose purpose is to influence the political situation in the country, particularly during the election to the Bundestag this autumn. We appreciate your support and are willing to help you, to share our experience and provide all necessary intelligence information that can facilitate the identification and suppression of criminal activities ", - said Arsen Avakov.
According to him, the National Police of Ukraine (NPU) pays much attention to its criminal police and investigation divisions. The work has already begun on reforming these divisions and a general detective service is planned to be created, that will combine the functions of field work and investigative units.
"In the near future there will be another meeting between the officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine and the Federal Criminal Police Agency; during this meeting the joint strategy of action and further cooperation between criminal and cyber police of both countries will be discussed. Then we shall sign an agreement on cooperation", - said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
