900 thousand hryvnias of damages — former officials of the Luhansk Regional State Administration and state-owned enterprises will be tried
Exhibitors have developed a scheme for appropriating funds from the regional budget, which were allocated for work on the protection of the natural environment.
As established by the operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Luhansk region, during 2018 the attackers concluded a number of contracts for the implementation of environmental measures in accordance with the regional program. Funds for their implementation were allocated from the regional budget.
In order to acquire them, inaccurate information about the volume of work performed and their cost was entered into official documents. As a result of such activities at that time, the head of one of the departments of the Regional State Administration and his accomplice — the director of the state geological enterprise, suffered losses of almost UAH 900 thousand.
On the basis of the evidence received, the investigators of the regional police drew up an indictment against the former officials. They incriminate the commission of criminal offenses provided for in Part 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, squandering of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) and Part 1 of Art. 366 (Forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment, in agreement with the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office, was sent to the Severodonetsk City Court.
