$5,000 for the settlement of the elderly — the police detained the director of a Kiev boarding house on a bribe
The official demanded illegal benefits from citizens for issuing vouchers to one of the Kiev boarding houses, intended for living on full state support for single citizens of retirement age.
Today, April 28, the operatives of the Strategic Investigation Department in the city of Kiev together with the investigators of the Shevchenko Department of the Metropolitan Police detained the director of the boarding house, who demanded and received $5,000 in illegal benefits for settling into the boarding house. The money was withdrawn on the spot.
Currently, the director of the boarding house is detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying him of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The involvement of other persons in the “sale” of vouchers to the boarding house is checked.
Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office. Liability in the form of imprisonment
for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions is provided for in the form of imprisonment for a period of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with the confiscation of property.
