165 thousand hryvnias of damages during the repair of cameras in the detention center in Transcarpathia — the former head of the correctional institution will appear before the court
Holding the post of chief, the colonel of the internal service agreed to carry out repair works totaling more than one million hryvnias, and subsequently signed the acts of the work performed with knowingly false information. He is incriminated for abuse of office and official forgery.
Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Transcarpathian region and law enforcement colleagues established that 165 thousand UAH of budget funds were illegally appropriated on the mentioned repair. By this amount, the works performed in the relevant acts overestimated their value and volume.
In June 2021, on the basis of the evidence received, the investigators of the SBI Tertiary Department located in the city of Lviv under the procedural leadership of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office reported the suspicion to the head of the SIZO at that time. Then he was selected for a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of paying UAH 180 thousand, which the suspect contributed.
On September 9, law enforcement officers sent the indictment against the former head of the special agency to the court. He is charged with committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 364 (abuse of official position) and Part 1 of Art. 28 part 1 of Article 366 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
