150 rescuers began to restore housing to residents of frontline areas of Donbas
Since September 1, reconstruction works of residential buildings that were damaged as a result of hostilities began in Donetsk region. One and a half hundred rescuers from Lviv region, Rivne region, Chernihiv region, Vinnytsia region, Kirovograd region, Kherson region and Ivano-Frankivsk region arrived in the frontline zone, who had already started work.
The units of the State Emergency Service cover roofs, restore walls and perform other construction work. Emergency personnel will work on the territory of five military-civilian administrations: Sartanskaya, Mirnenskaya, Mariinsky, Avdiyivska and Ocheretinsky. In addition to private private houses, objects of the social sphere and critical infrastructure will be restored.
Representatives of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region met colleagues from other regions and shared their experience in frontline settlements. Please note that all emergency responders are provided with medical first aid kits and personal protective equipment. The units of the State Emergency Service have been involved in restoration work in the east since 2015. Despite the fact that they have to work in difficult conditions and risk their own lives every day and now they continue to help those affected.
Hundreds of houses remain in Donetsk region, which have suffered significant damage as a result of enemy shelling. Not all residents are able to repair their homes on their own, so government agencies often provide assistance. For example, this year, construction materials for repair work were purchased with the funds of the material reserve of Donetsk region and transferred to citizens on a free basis.
