Press conference on “Local elections under new rules: how and why did Ukrainians change their electoral address?”

September 16, 2020 in the premises of Ukrinform (ul. B. 8/16 Khmelnytskyi Street, Kyiv, 01001) from 12.00 to 13.00 a press conference will be held on the topic: “Local elections under new rules: how and why did Ukrainians change their voting address?”

About 100 thousand citizens have changed their voting address and have the right to vote at the place of actual residence, and not registration. In total, approximately 5.5 million Ukrainians had such an opportunity, of which 1.5 million were internally displaced persons.

What opportunities has the new legislation opened up for Ukrainians and why is it important? What stopped voters from exercising their legal right? How to motivate people to be more active and responsible participants in the electoral process in their communities in the future?

These and other nuances will be discussed by the participants of the press conference, which will be held on September 16, 2020 in the premises of Ukrinform (ul. B. Khmelnitsky, 8/16, Kiev, 01001) from 12.00 to 13.00.
