Address of the Chairman of the Ukrainian Association “Chernobyl” of Bodies and Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vasyl Durdynets on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster
Dear brothers of Chernobyl!
Dear families of the deceased and deceased participants
Elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster!
Today is the 37th anniversary of the man-made, environmental disaster of the 20th century at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Nine years ago, on these April days, Kremlin-controlled professional militants hung tricolors on the Donetsk Regional State Administration and seized the building of the Luhansk Regional Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine.
From that time until today, cities and villages of Donetsk, Luhansk region, as well as other territories currently temporarily occupied by the Rashists for foreigners are associated with Russia's full-scale invasion and bloody, destructive, invasion war against Ukraine, with nuclear terrorism as well as with nuclear terrorism. Chernobyl is associated with the huge explosion of the nuclear power plant on April 26, 1986.
The Chernobyl disaster dramatically changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians and a number of European countries.
Thousands of people instantly joined the fight against the nuclear tragedy from the first minutes, first of all, firefighter heroes with their timely professional actions stopped the spread of a man-made disaster to the nuclear power units operating nearby. They made it impossible for it to grow into a global extermination tornado for the whole of Europe, other countries of the world.
The liquidators of the consequences of the accident were well aware that they were going to the very center of deadly radiation.
Unfortunately, all of them received fatal burns and died in severe agony.
Let us bow low, saved people!
Ukraine and the world will not forget about them.
And the memory of the people will never fade,
Because they overcame the black fear.
To them eternal Glory, lifelong honor and human gratitude for heroism and courage in the name of the living, in the name of their Fatherland — Ukraine, in the name of the whole civilized world.
From the first hours, employees of the internal affairs bodies, servicemen of the internal forces, who, together with specialists of various specialties, scientists, military personnel, medical workers, and rear services, joined the round-the-clock work directly in the Chernobyl zone were quickly included in the liquidation of the consequences of the nuclear disaster. catastrophes.
They acted professionally and responsibly, with honor fulfilled their official and civic duty. Honor to them and Glory and sincere gratitude!
On behalf of the liquidators, the families of the deceased, we sincerely thank the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Vladimirovich Klymenko, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the leadership of the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the command of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard services of Ukraine, the leadership of the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the heads of structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the teams of medical workers, our veteran organizations, with whom we constantly and objectively cooperate, for care and attention in solving the issues of social support, pension provision, treatment and recovery.
We will continue to work every day so that the veterans of Chernobyl, their families, the families of the deceased feel care for them, their lives, their health and do not forget about the dead and their families.
Such daily care, tangible for every person, is needed especially now, in difficult times of endless with severe consequences of the pandemic “Covid-19”, a full-scale, brazen, destructive, bloody war of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, against the Ukrainian people.
We Ukrainians are a peace-loving people, we want and will live in a peaceful, united, sovereign, democratic country and we are grateful to the international community and partner countries for their concrete tangible assistance to Ukraine in confronting shameful, cynical, years-long military actions against a sovereign, peace-loving neighbor a country that is able to defend its independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity.
It is appropriate today to remind the defiant Kremlin leadership that 37 years ago the Ukrainian people, with strong international and national support, defeated the atomic monster with many years of heroic efforts, stopped the spread of the radiation threat in the territory of many countries of Europe and the world, and today is able to stop an armed to the teeth a aggressor who constantly encroaches on our country, which wants to live in peace and harmony with all countries and peoples of the world!
I wish all of you, dear fellow liquidators, the families of the dead and deceased, good health, well-being and inspiration in further activities for the benefit of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people!
As our famous poetess Lina Kostenko writes:
And who would be there, who did not say to whom,
And evil will perish and truth will triumph!
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroic Armed Forces of Ukraine, to the entire sector of defense and security of Ukraine! Glory to the heroic Ukrainian people!
With Sincere Respect
Chairman of the Ukrainian Association
“Chernobyl” of bodies and troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,
