Detained members of a criminal group specializing in custom killings
At the beginning of December last year, employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police received operational information on preparations for the commission of a custom-made murder. According to this fact, the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police began criminal proceedings.
In the course of further activities, the participants of the group were established, they turned out to be two immigrants from another country. To do this, they specially rented cars, which they planned to burn in order to “sweep away” the traces of the crime. For some time, the “object” and its place of residence were monitored. We also decided on the date of “going to work”. On the evening of January 5, 2023, it was planned to kill the victim with a pre-purchased firearm when he returned home.
Therefore, law enforcement officers conducted a special operation to detain members of a criminal ethnic group. On January 5 in Irpen, operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations, investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police, prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General with the force support of the special officers of the DSR Two defendants were arrested. They seized a pistol with a silencer, grenades and a photograph of their victim.
Detainees were informed of suspicions under Part 2 of Art. 15, Clause 12 of Part 2 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and selected preventive measures in the form of detention without the right to make bail.
Law enforcement officers identify the customer and other participants involved in the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
