On the initiative of the GUNP in Zaporizhzhya region, the Regional Youth Center opened a thematic photo exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of the heroic confrontation of the Zaporizhzhya region against the hostile invasion of the Russian Federation.

During this period, the regional center alone suffered more than 400 missile strikes. As a result of enemy armed attacks in the region, 344 people were killed, including 21 children. 939 people were injured, 63 of them children. The pre-trial investigation bodies opened 2,430 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes of the terrorist country on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya region.

The event was held with the participation of the head of the police of the region Artem Kysk and police personnel. Among the guests are representatives of other law enforcement agencies, public organizations, media, humanitarian hubs, as well as residents and guests of the city.

Through the lenses of the cameras of police officers and photojournalists, the course of events in the Ukraine-controlled territory of the Zaporizhzhya region has been recorded from February 24, 2022 until now.

The exhibition site presents own photos of the communication department of the GUNP in the Zaporizhzhya region, as well as the works of local photocorrespondents Alexander Prilepa, Dmitry Smolienko and Kateryna Klochko.

In 76 photos, the moment captured various manifestations of war: human tragedy, war crimes of the occupiers, the work of police officers who daily guard the safety of civilians.

The head of the GUNP in the Zaporizhzhya region Artem Kisko addressed those present: “We have withstood this year with dignity, and I am grateful to my police team for their conscientious service. I am grateful to the other security forces, with whom we keep our spirits up. Only by joint efforts can we overcome the hostile invasion of the Russian Federation, which has been going on for the ninth year. All this time, Ukrainians together write the modern history of our state, and during the year of full-scale invasion, we write the history of the world. The Zaporizhzhia Police does not stand aside and participates in various projects to attract world attention to the events in our country. The law enforcement officers of the various units of the region will also enter the history of this war, through the prism of what they saw and see while performing their duties during the war.”

A separate location of the event was the presentation to the personnel of the Zaporizhzhia police and the guests of the photo exhibition of the author's collection of stories by Artem Kysk “Non-combatants”. For the lawman, the Russian-Ukrainian war began 9 years ago in the Donetsk region. He immortalized his combat experience, memories and impressions in the book. Today, everyone was able to get a copy of the publication with a personal aftograph of the author.

Visitors to the photo exhibition shared their impressions of the photos they saw and sincerely thanked all the organizers for the work done. This project and the like will be the personification of the meeting memory.
