On August 8, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Tymchenko presented thanks, certificates and other awards to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for exemplary performance of official duties, significant contribution to the creation and implementation of Service 112.

“Thank you to each and every one of you for your excellent work. Today we summarize the interim results of the work of Service 112. While we have covered Kiev, the Service will continue to function throughout Ukraine. Therefore, we do not slow down and continue to work. Work on the implementation of System 112 in other regions continues,” said Leonid Tymchenko.

Recall that the launch of Service 112 is one of Ukraine's steps on the way to joining the EU. From now on, with a single telephone number 112, citizens have the opportunity to contact emergency services, report an emergency situation and receive the necessary assistance comprehensively and promptly on the principle of a “single window”.

Therefore, in the event of a threat to your life and health, in the event of an emergency, illegal actions or other dangerous events, contact the 112 Service.

In addition to the Ukrainian language, the operators of the center also speak English - this allows foreigners to contact the Service and receive high-quality communication service. In addition, it is possible to call 112 operators using an emergency number of another international format - 911.

Also, for people with hearing and speech impairments, it is possible to process calls with sign language. By sending a message to the short number 112, you will receive a link that allows you to notify the operator of an emergency by gestures in video communication mode or, in case of deterioration of health, call an ambulance team at your place of stay. In the absence of the opportunity to use a video call, the applicant can fully communicate with the operator exclusively by SMS messages.

So, as of August 8, 2023, to the communication center “Service 112” in the city. Kyiv received 60,360 calls on the single emergency telephone number 112, of which 9,609 calls were sent to emergency response services (15.92% of the total).

Also during the specified period, 25 calls were received from foreign citizens, of which 10 calls were sent to the emergency response services. There were 1,405 requests to the sign language translator's workplace, of which 4 were sent to the emergency response services.
