This was stated during a briefing in “Ukrinform” by the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alyona Matveeva. According to her, out of 1,200 criminal proceedings during the pre-trial investigation, 199 people were notified of suspicion. Mostly these are representatives of state bodies, local self-government bodies — 6 persons; former law enforcement officers — 4 persons; representatives of LLC and sole proprietors — 3 persons; civilians — 166 persons.

“There is no decrease in the facts of cooperation revealed by the National Police to date. On average, 160 such facts are registered a month before the ERDR. According to the results of the investigation in 101 criminal proceedings, the materials concerning the suspects were sent to the court. The largest number in three regions — Zhytomyr — 33, Sumska — 15, Kyivska — 10,” said Alyona Matveeva. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also told about interesting facts of cooperation activities.

“One of them took place in the Kiev region. Investigators of the Main Investigation Department reported the suspicion of two men who during the occupation of the territory of the Kiev region cooperated with the occupiers, namely, received humanitarian assistance from the aggressor state, distributed it among the local population. They also provided the occupiers with information about ATO participants and about strategic infrastructure facilities in Buchansky district of Kyiv region. Another case: the investigators were informed in absentia about the suspicion of a man who voluntarily agreed to take the post of acting chief of the “People's Police of the city of Berdyansk” of the Zaporizhzhya region,” Alyona Matveeva said.

She also added that in another case, investigators were informed of suspicion by two heads of private enterprises. They cooperated with organizations that are located or registered in the territory of the Russian Federation, etc. “DNR”. Accordingly, they received profits from these organizations and paid taxes to the aggressor state. This amount amounted to almost 1,300,000 Russian rubles.

In addition, the investigator was informed in absentia about the suspicion of a citizen of Ukraine, who was in the territory of the temporarily occupied city. Nova Kakhovka, voluntarily agreed to work in an illegally created police station.

“And another case, which was brought to the YERDR, also in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, a woman began to cooperate with the occupiers and agreed to become the administrator of the so-called Tavria shopping mall, before the occupation — UA: Kherson TV channel,” added the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs S.

Why people begin to cooperate with the occupiers is currently impossible to generalize, it must be determined on a case-by-case basis. For the most part, suspects are handed over in absentia, these people continue to be in the temporarily occupied territories.

“In some cases, cooperation with the occupiers is justified by the fact that people are promised leadership positions. It can also be a financial reward, or a person can cooperate with the occupiers through obtaining benefits or through revenge. There were cases when a person wanted to make it easier for himself to leave for another country,” Alyona Matveeva summed up.
