Croatia plans to allocate almost 3 million euros for the purchase of mining machines for Ukraine
Today, December 21, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Akopian met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to Ukraine Anice Djamic.
“We are grateful for the decisive and consistent not only political solidarity of the Republic of Croatia with our state, but also military, technical and humanitarian support. Special gratitude to your country for the shelter and care that it has managed to provide for Ukrainian citizens who have forcibly left the territory of their native state. We know that Croatia provided temporary protection for 19 thousand citizens of Ukraine during the military aggression of Russia,” the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs noted in her address to Ms. Djamic.
Mary Akopian also stressed that Ukraine now needs partner assistance in strengthening its resilience to the challenges that the war is preparing for us in the winter period in the face of intensified shelling by Russia of energy infrastructure facilities. Actually, we were talking about the possibilities of Croatia to assist in the completion of the critical points of inviolability today, the deployment of additional locations of humanitarian support to Ukrainians. Another extreme security challenge that Croatia can potentially help us cope with is the demining activities in the de-occupied territories.
Anica Djamic assured of the Croatian side's readiness to assist Ukraine in the processes of humanitarian demining of liberated territories by providing specialized mechanical demining machines and other pyrotechnic equipment to the State Emergency Service. To this end, the Croatian side plans to direct almost 3 million euros for the purchase of minting machines for the needs of Ukraine.
