Interaction between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the US Embassy in Ukraine will contribute to the strengthening of security in many regions of the country, - Denis Monastyrsky
Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Ukraine Bridget Brink.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation that developed around the Zaporizhzhya NPP, as well as the risks associated with the presence of Russian troops on the territory of the station.
The US side was also informed about the state of implementation of joint projects and discussed the possibility of launching other international technical assistance projects. In particular, this applies to humanitarian demining, psychological rehabilitation of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and support of the police in the field of combating drug and cybercrime.
“In today's conditions, active interaction between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the US Embassy in Ukraine will strengthen the bodies and units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system in repelling Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, as well as support employees who suffered as a result of such aggression. In addition, it will contribute to the strengthening of security in many regions of the country,” the Minister stressed.
The US Ambassador to Ukraine expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation in these areas and expressed words of support to all employees of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who, despite everything, continue to faithfully fulfill their tasks of ensuring security in the country.
