In the Office of the President of Ukraine there was a meeting with the head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine and the head of the border detachment of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine “Steel Border”
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met with the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Sergey Deyneka and the head of the 15th mobile border detachment of the State Security Service of Ukraine “Steel Border” Colonel Valery Paditel.
The meeting discussed the issues of further technical equipment of the brigade in order to strengthen it and improve the efficiency of the tasks. Andriy Yermak also congratulated Serhiy Deynek and Valeriy Paditel on the recent anniversary of the creation of the Brigade of the Guards Offensive “Steel Border”.
“In almost 10 years of war, the border guards have demonstrated that they are a model of courage and resilience. It was the soldiers of the State Border Service who were among the first to take the fight during a full-scale invasion, heroically holding back the significantly superior forces of the enemy. It is very important for the President and our team that each military brigade has maximum security for the effective performance of its tasks, including the border guard brigade. So today I want to consider more objectively the needs of the soldiers of the “Steel Border” brigade, which I take care of, in order to move on to their provision as soon as possible,” said the head of the Office of the Head of State.
Serhiy Deineko called the “Steel Border” brigade one of the most successful, because in nine months since the beginning of the combat tasks its units have not lost a single position, the fighters work harmoniously, have a high fighting spirit and are motivated to defend the country and fight the invaders.
“All this is due to the fact that there is a system of working with people and respecting them. We see every soldier, sergeant, officer,” said the head of the DPSU.
The commander of the “Steel Border” Valery Paditel informed Andriy Yermak that the fighters of the brigade are now performing tasks to defend both the state border and the line of contact. Separately, Serhiy Deineko and Valeriy Paditel thanked Andriy Yermak and all participants involved from the state for assisting in the return from captivity of border guards, in particular the captain of the 1st rank, commander of the Mariupol detachment of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Service Peter Melnyk.
The soldiers of this unit, together with the border guards of the Donetsk detachment, commanded at that time by Valery Paditel, and other Ukrainian defenders defended Mariupol. During the previous exchange, 26 DPSU fighters were released from Russian captivity.
