Ukrainian border guards got acquainted with the principles and principles of work of colleagues from Slovakia
During the week, the servicemen gained knowledge to implement a secure and inclusive Ukrainian-Slovak border.
Within the framework of the international project “Safe and Inclusive Border between Slovakia and Ukraine”, the soldiers of the Chop Border Detachment together with representatives of the State Customs Service of Ukraine made an introductory visit to the Bureau of Border Police and the Police for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Police Corps, as well as to the Customs Directorate of the Slovak Republic.
The project was implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia, the Slovak Foreign Policy Association in partnership with the State Border Service of Ukraine, the State Customs Service of Ukraine, Uzhgorod National University and the main partner and organizer in Ukraine — the Center for Analysis of Regional Risks.
The purpose of the training course was to exchange modern advanced experience of law enforcement officers of both states, increase the level of professional training of border guards, study of norms and provisions of Schengen legislation.
During the week, the border guards got acquainted with the principles and principles of the Slovak border police, the procedure for carrying out border control at the external borders of the EU, the procedure for working with foreigners and granting the status of a refugee or a person in need of temporary protection.
Law enforcement officers of Ukraine and Slovakia exchanged experience on the use of risk analysis and assessment systems in service and operational activities, the use of IT technologies and measures aimed at combating smuggling, illegal migration and human trafficking.
As part of the visit, the border guards got acquainted with the work of the international airport “Bratislava”, the procedure for carrying out border and customs control and transit operations in general.
