In Zaporizhzhia, a city council official was bribed, who demanded money for advertising
The 49-year-old official demanded 50,000 hryvnias from business entities for approval and issuance of permits for the placement of outdoor advertising in the regional center.
Yesterday, January 11, law enforcement officers detained the defendant while receiving from a citizen the next part of the specified amount for “resolving the issue”. In general, they documented their receipt of illegal benefits in the amount of 31 000 hryvnias.
On the same day, the police conducted a series of searches of the places of work and residence of the intruder. As a result of the measures, they found and seized 2000 UAH and 500 US dollars, five mobile phones, computer equipment, a notebook with rough records, and documentation. Everything removed is directed to expert research.
The official was detained on the basis of Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The investigators informed him of the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 3 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At this time, the question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
