The first release of military chaplains of the NGU took place in Sofia Kyiv

The first edition of the tactical level command course (L-1) of the military chaplains of the National Guard of Ukraine took place in the Cathedral of St. Sophia. Within a month, military chaplains received a set of professional knowledge, skills and skills necessary for an officer of the tactical level of military education within the framework of the performance of functional duties.

During the solemn event, the head of the Synodal Department of the Military Clergy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine — Metropolitan John of Cherkasy and Chigirin and the Head of the Department of Military Chaplaincy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church — Bishop Michael of Sokalsko-Zhovkivsk congratulated the graduates and presented awards.

“You support the soldiers, as well as members of their families. I believe that the knowledge gained will be useful to you in your professional activity,” said Colonel Valentin Ostryzhny, acting deputy commander of the NGU.

During the ceremony, the graduates were presented with certificates of completion of the military chaplains training courses and the corresponding award - a patch on the sleeve sign: “To be near!”.

“Today was a truly historic moment. This is not just the end of the course, it is your desire to go forward, develop and provide quality and professional help. You are a light and support for those who serve in the army,” said Colonel Alexander Izdebsky, the head of the military chaplaincy service of the State Department of National Defense of Ukraine.
