In Lviv, trainings are held for line 102 operators, dispatchers and other employees of on-call services

Today, the first of five trainings organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund of Ukraine (UNFPA) for operators of line 102, dispatchers and other employees of on-duty services of the National Police of Ukraine on the development of communication skills on domestic, gender-based violence in conditions of conditions of domestic violence started crisis caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

In total, the training is designed for 125 representatives and specialists of the 102 line from all over Ukraine, including from the territories where active hostilities and de-occupied territories are being conducted.

The problem of domestic violence during war does not become less important, sometimes even vice versa. As world practice shows, extreme situations only exacerbate the problems of people that have occurred before. Like domestic violence. Because of the war, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to get the help they need.

People, when contacting the police, need a quick resolution of the problem, compassion and empathy, and a special category of such appeals is appeals for domestic violence.

At the same time, for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the issue of preventing and combating domestic violence, responding to it was and remains one of the priorities.

It is the operators of line 102, the dispatchers who are the first to be contacted by a person in a situation of domestic violence. And it depends on them how timely and qualitatively the affected person will be provided with the necessary assistance.

Therefore, the trainings are aimed at:

• to develop communication skills on issues of domestic, gender-based violence,

• informing and advising persons affected by it in the conditions of full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine,

• to develop self-regulation skills and prevent professional burnout.
