Exactly two years ago, on April 8, 2022, Russian troops struck a ballistic missile on people waiting for an evacuation train. The “Point-U” rocket with the cynical inscription “children” took the lives of 61 people, including 9 children, in total 121 people were injured.

Today, representatives of the National Police, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and local authorities took part in laying flowers at the memorial erected at the site of the tragedy.

The shelling of the railway station in Kramatorsk is one of Russia's greatest crimes against civilians.

That day, a rocket hit a temporary waiting room where some 4,000 residents of eastern regions were staying, trying to escape the fighting. The enemy used cluster munitions to inflict maximum damage. Chopped by fragments, people were bleeding in a matter of minutes. There were body fragments everywhere, mutilated adults and children.

Police and rescuers were among the first to come to the rescue of the victims: they evacuated the wounded to hospitals, disassembled rubble, documented the war crime.

Thanks to timely assistance, it was possible to save more than one life. In those days, up to 8,000 people a day left Donetsk region and law enforcement officers monitored security at the railway station during evacuations.

There is no forgiveness for Russian murderers. Eternal memory of the innocently murdered!
