The capital's law enforcement officers reported a man's suspicion of committing sexual acts against a 12-year-old boy. The child with his parents rested in the capital park. Around 20 in the evening, the student went to the dressing room, which was nearby. An unknown person came after him, the force of force pushed the child into the booth and tried to rape him. At the cries of the child, a passerby ran over and knocked out the cabin door. The eyewitness held the intruder and handed it over to law enforcement officers.

In April, a 41-year-old man raped a 12-year-old girl. Met a minor - on the social network. He corresponded for a long time, and later invited him on a date. After the walk, the teenager wanted to go home, but a new acquaintance put psychological pressure on her and insisted on following him. Thus, she ended up in the attacker's garage. The 41-year-old from Kiev ordered the girl to turn off the phone and forced her to use amphetamine, after which she began to feel bad. The abuser took advantage of the moment and raped the child. After the deed, he closed her in the garage and went about his business.

Since the girl was not contacted, her mother contacted the police with a report of her disappearance. In a few hours, law enforcement officers found the girl and detained the suspect. The defendant was informed of suspicion under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely:

- Part 4 of Article 152 — rape committed against a person under fourteen years of age, regardless of his voluntary consent, — part 2 of Article 146 — unlawful imprisonment of a minor,

- Part 1 of Art. 309 - illegal acquisition and storage of a psychotropic substance without the purpose of marketing,

- Part 3 of Art. 314 - illegal introduction of psychotropic substances into the body of a minor.

The sanction of the most severe article provides for up to fifteen years in prison.

Meanwhile, training for police officers took place in Zhytomyr region. Service 102 operators, on-call, dispatchers and situational center workers are trained in the mechanisms of responding to reports from children who have suffered or witnessed bullying or domestic violence.

Particular attention during the classes was paid to the peculiarities of communication with children of different age groups, as well as the rules for counseling children. After all, when children are contacted with such messages, it is important to calm them down, get the necessary information and orient the appropriate groups to respond quickly. You need to do this in a matter of minutes to save someone's life.

What to do if a child is a victim of sexual abuse?

  • Be sure to report what happened to the children's services, social services and police.
  • Listen to the child, try not to broadcast your anxiety. If she told you, it's a sign of trust. Be for her a container for feelings and experiences.
  • Do not make vain promises such as “I will definitely find and punish” or “This will not happen to you again.”
  • Do not advise the child to forget and not remember everything, it is meaningless.
  • Give the child an installation - so that it does not happen to her, you still love her.
  • Let her know that she is not guilty, this is the case and therefore you will not return anything. (Often children tend to take all the blame: “If I had not gone to rehearsal that day, this would not have happened”)
  • Be sure to seek help from a qualified specialist who will correctly build a strategy for the rehabilitation of the child, depending on the age, situation and severity of the trauma.
  • Believe that everything can be overcome, the main thing is not to despair and correctly build life guidelines.

If you have suffered or witnessed violence, call 102 immediately.
