In Dnipro, the internal security agents of the National Police stopped the activities of the drug group
Offenders abroad purchased raw materials for the manufacture of psychotropics and, under the guise of souvenirs, transported them to Ukraine, where they manufactured methamphetamine for further sale in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Law enforcement officers stopped the illegal activities of the criminal group and announced suspicions to the main defendants.
Operatives of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police, together with colleagues from the Dnipropetrovsk Department of the Internal Security Service, exposed a criminal group with signs of a stable hierarchical association that was engaged in the distribution of drugs in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Involved in the organization of the drug business was a 40-year-old resident of Dnipro, who involved in criminal activities familiar men and women, aged between 29 and 42 years. Accomplices manufactured and sold methamphetamine and marijuana to drug addicts from hand to hand and through bookmarks.
To produce psychotrope, the attackers used drugs banned in free circulation. Medicines were purchased abroad and illegally imported into Ukraine, hidden in souvenirs. According to preliminary estimates, the monthly turnover of the drug group amounted to about 10 million hryvnias.
Among the accomplices, who for systematic monetary remuneration did not take response measures and “covered up” the illegal activities of the group, were two deputies of the Dnipropetrovsk region police.
According to the exposed fact, the investigators of TU SBI, located in the city of Poltava, opened criminal proceedings under Art. 255 (Creation, leadership of a criminal community or criminal organization, as well as participation in it), Art. 305 (Smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit medicines), Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Internal security officers of the police, the USBU in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the SBI conducted a special operation to eliminate the activities of the criminal organization. With the physical support of the fighters of the Department of Rapid Response of the Internal Security Service, the “TOR” Company of the Department of Patrol Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the special officers of the “Alpha” of the USBU, 45 simultaneous sanctioned searches of the defendants were carried out. During which cannabis plants, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, equipment for the manufacture of drugs, firearms, grenades, money, bank cards, office equipment, mobile phones, as well as cars were discovered and seized.
So far, seven members of the group have been notified of suspicion. Further investigative actions are underway with the aim of bringing their accomplices to justice. Procedural management is carried out by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
