“Now I have two Birthdays”: the story of the pyrotechnician from Rivne region Mikhail Marchuk
Mikhail is one of the many pyrotechnics of Ukraine who received complex injuries due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian army.
On the eve of his birthday on October 29, 2022, the man worked in the Donetsk region — carried out work on demining a village in the Kramatorsk district.
Knowing how dangerous this is, the man went with the team so that in the event of an explosion others would not suffer. However, the enemy very tightly replaced the territory... and an explosion thundered.
On that terrible day, the pyrotechnician lost his leg, but fortunately survived.
At the moment, the man has mastered the prosthesis and continues to work in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine as the head of the training field, passing on his own experience to colleagues.
Also, the man participates in various sports competitions. In particular, the other day Mykhailo Marchuk won the second place in the aerobics competition during the sport-inclusive event “Strengths of Ukraine”.
