The quick response of a young guard saved the lives of three servicemen
During the execution of a combat mission in the Donetsk region, the unit, which included the National Guardsman Vladislav, was subjected to artillery fire. One of the shells hit an observation post.
“A black cloud of dust rose... I heard the boys crying for help. Without wasting time, I also began to call other servicemen who were in shelters, and myself ran to the wounded. There were three of them,” says Vladislav.
Assessing the situation, the National Guardsman immediately began to provide emergency assistance, according to the severity of the injuries: one of the soldiers had a leg torn off, the other two received shrapnel wounds of varying severity.
Before the arrival of the first evacuation team, the two servicemen with the greatest injuries had already been put on turnstiles and stopped bleeding. At the time of the arrival of help, Vladislav had already imposed a tourniquet on the third brother and helped him leave the observation post, which remained in the enemy's zone of defeat.
“I just put the turnstiles. I was in the right place, at the right time. I do not know if there is something heroic in my actions,” the national guard modestly states.
But as it turned out later, this first aid and the promptly organized evacuation of the wounded saved three servicemen's lives.
