Joint efforts: on the initiative of the fighters and with the help of indifferent employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a gym was opened in the hospital
A sports hall was opened in the Main Medical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Fitted out gyms in just two months thanks to donations from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During a visit to the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on October 25, 2023, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko was approached by fighters undergoing rehabilitation with a request to equip them with a gym.
“There were basements that were not used. And when we visited the hospital with the Minister, the guys turned to us with a request to equip two rooms under the hall. We wanted to make it in such a way that you have the opportunity to recover - morally, physically,” the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk addressed the fighters during the opening.
According to the official, the Ministry of Internal Affairs offered to join the initiative of those who want to help. The ministry disseminated information about the collection of donuts to the gym. About 300 people responded. So the gym for the wounded was quickly equipped.
Now in two sports rooms - about two dozen simulators. But after the Christmas and New Year holidays, they increase significantly.
For wounded servicemen, physical activity is necessary. In particular, and for those who are preparing for prosthetics or have amputated limbs. In the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all physical activities of wounded fighters are carried out only under the supervision of specialists.
