Guardsman Alexander with the nickname Skif serves in the 15th operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. The current war for an experienced fighter is already the third. Prior to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Scythian fought in Afghanistan and participated in a peacekeeping mission in the former Yugoslavia.

Alexander tells us that there is a big difference between this war and the fighting actions of the past.

“You have to listen to the sky, be very attentive. The current war is a war of technology, a war of drones. Various aircraft can conduct reconnaissance and drop a grenade into position,” Skiff shares his experience.

And in terms of cruelty on the part of the Russian occupiers, this war, Alexander is sure, was significantly ahead of both Afghanistan and Yugoslavia.

“The Russians are very insidious and ruthless towards civilians. They are not warriors, but just sick creatures,” the guard is sure.

Scythian is not going to surrender to captivity. In case of encirclement or injury, he always carries a grenade with him.

“I saw a guy in Afghanistan in a desperate situation blow himself up and several enemies. I decided to take it up for myself,” says Skiff.

But it is not only the veteran defender who lives in the war. He also performs his own songs to guitar accompaniment. Knowing about Alexander's talent, he was invited to perform at a festive concert in honor of the Day of the National Guard of Ukraine.

But Scythian's greatest desire is to return with Victory to his wife and five children, to continue working in his native enterprise.
