Fraud of almost 830,000 UAH during the repair of shelters: a local resident will be tried in Zhytomyr region
Law enforcement officers of the Zhytomyr region have completed a pre-trial investigation into the fact of fraud during the repair of shelters in lyceums. Evidence of the involvement of a 49-year-old local resident in forgery of official documents and fraud during repair work has been collected.
The woman was an official representative of a Zhytomyr entrepreneur who provides construction and repair services. In October and November 2022, it concluded contracts and additional agreements with one of the village councils of Zvyagel region on the ongoing repair of shelters of two lyceums. However, during the work, the woman entered inaccurate information in the documentation. It was about the amount of the accrued single social contribution to the wages of employees.
In addition, the defendant entered knowingly false information in the acts of the completed works on the repair facilities. In particular, I overestimated the amount of materials used, and in some places indicated those that were not used at all in construction.
The woman disposed of the illegal profits in the amount of almost 830 thousand hryvnias at her own discretion.
In the summer, police investigators announced the defendants on suspicion of committing crimes. The pre-trial investigation is now complete. The materials are sent to court.
The defendant is charged with fraud committed on a particularly large scale (Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), as well as the preparation and issuance of knowingly forged official documents (Part 2 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Her car and apartment were arrested. In accordance with the current legislation, a woman may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 3 to 8 years.
