Investigators of the National Police of Ukraine reported on suspicion of the Russian military for the murder of a civilian in Bucha, Kiev region. On March 19, 2022, during the occupation of Bucha, a man went to his parents because of the firing positions of Russian troops on the territory of the electrical substation. There, near one of the local residential complexes, the occupiers placed their self-propelled artillery installations “Nona S”. They fired on the city of Irpin.

The civilian approached the location of the Russian military and asked permission to go to his parents' home. He received a refusal from the deputy commander of the occupying platoon, turned around and went back. However, he was shot in the back with AK-12 assault rifles. The occupiers inflicted five gunshot wounds on the man. The civilian died on the spot and lay there for more than two weeks.

Investigators were able to establish the identity of the killers thanks to data from video surveillance cameras and testimonies of Russian prisoners of war. The killers were soldiers of the first and second artillery platoons of the 1st self-propelled artillery battery of the Nona-S self-propelled artillery installation: a 26-year-old sergeant from the Pskov region and a 38-year-old sergeant from Kyrgyzstan. They served in the armed forces of the Russian Federation as deputy platoon commanders.

Russians were informed of suspicion of mistreatment of civilians, combined with premeditated murder and committed by a group of persons (Part 1 of Article 28, Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They are threatened with life imprisonment.
