The works of Ukrainian and foreign writers were sent by rescuers to the front-line Gulyaypole of Zaporizhzhya region. The story about the work of the emergency workers was broadcast on the United News marathon.

Local residents asked to bring literature to Zaporozhye rescuers. The enemy has been shelling the village every day for two years. People live without gas, water and light. So reading is the only way to escape from the terrible reality.

“Nights are long, sometimes you want to read something, get some information. We've read all the books we've been at home twice. We illuminate at night with flashlights and read until 10 pm, if there is no shelling,” says Nikolai, a resident of Gulyaypol.

Rescuers delivered works by Lesya Ukrainka, Taras Shevchenko and Panas Mirny to people. Details - in the material.
