Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the border guard Viktor joined the forces of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine, and within a few months - the State Border Service.

According to the instructions, the man went to the 6 border detachment. From where he wrote the report on the transfer to the East. The border guard says, with a gun on “you”. It all started with hunting. Such a hobby gave the border guard the first skills in the possession of firearms and helped hone accuracy, at the moment he is one of the best instructors in combat, tactical and special training and tactical medicine in the detachment. So the man wanted to be useful at the front.

Victor received his initial military training in the UK and recently returned from Germany. The British instructors received our military very warmly.

“The British called us Jackie Chanami. They said we were “cool” and constantly thanked. They are sure that we save them, that we restrain the evil that has come to our land. And they were surprised by our training: they taught us, and we taught them,” Victor recalls.

The man emphasizes that in Great Britain they gave a powerful base, and in Germany - invaluable skills to introduce assault actions in urbanized areas. In Germany, Ukrainian military personnel from various departments were trained. For the guys in the forest there was a so-called camping. There they arranged life and created the most comfortable conditions for training. They learned to plan, calculate everything in advance, and then execute.

For the training of Ukrainian military, entire forest clearings were cleared. And to teach the tactics of conducting street battles, seizing and clearing premises, a large city was built.

“The material base and the conditions in which we were prepared - it was just something. Imagine, a huge city built only for training: with underground passages and tunnels. I shot myself “from the heart.” I managed to master new types of weapons for myself. We trained the boys 8 hours a day 6 days a week. Sunday was a day to relax and do your own business. For the leisure of the Ukrainian military, a special photo booth was set aside, where from time to time they arranged table tennis tournaments, communicated,” Viktor said.

While studying abroad, the border guard gained not only useful experience and combat skills, but also great friends among foreign instructors. The border guard has exchanged contacts with them and continues to keep in touch. And the British colleagues also made Victor a memorable gift - they painted the Ukrainian flag for him with the wishes of a speedy Victory.

Currently, the border guard skillfully uses the experience gained in the preparation of recruits. Tells them how to survive in combat conditions, helps to master the skills of owning firearms, teaches first aid in case of injury. Hundreds of soldiers have already passed through his “hands”. Some of them protect the country in the zone of active hostilities.

Preparing the mobilized became for Victor a lifelong business. The border guard is sure that he is doing a good job. And if at least part of what he says and shows is remembered, it will save more than one life on the front.
